Biography
Dr Olga Sutskova is a researcher in social and technology-related human cognition. She investigates how interaction with and through technology influences the brain, behaviour and performance. She is currently a lecturer and unit lead in Data Science and AI at the UAL’s Creative Computing Institute.Olga's research background is focused on cognitive sciences, specifically experimental psychology and neuroscience. Her PhD focused on testing how embodied AI-agents, avatars and real people impact the ability to perform tasks in VR and in videoconferencing platforms. Olga’s MSc in Educational Neuroscience degree focused on virtual social cognition impacts in education, and she also has a BSc in Psychology with Neuroscience on developing and testing memory retrieval, contrasting VR versus real environments.
Currently, she is applying her extensive research expertise, teaching Creative Computing Institute students about ethical data acquisition and processing, as well as research and experimental design involved in human participant testing and beyond. She is a member of the Interactive Systems and Wellbeing Research hub as well as Responsible AI (RAI) for the music-making research collective and a member of the CCI College Research Ethics Sub-Committee (CRESC). Her post-doctoral work involves both academic experimental work in human social and technology-mediated cognition testing, as well as academic-industry research partnerships.
