Dr Haiqi Yang

Biography

Haiqi Yang is an associate lecturer at the London College of Communication, and she is also a freelance illustrator.

Haiqi's artworks have been exhibited globally and shortlisted in several international illustration competitions. Her two picture books about anxiety disorders were sold at the GOSH! Comics bookstore in London, and acquired by Wellcome Library and UAL Library.

She received a PhD from UAL in 2025. Before PhD study, Haiqi was a lecturer at Sichuan University of Media and Communication for three years. During this period, she led six courses: Commercial Illustration, Storyboard Design, History and Theory of Animation, Animation Scene Design, Principles of Animation, and Website Design. Moreover, she has supervised over 20 students’ graduation projects and dissertations. As a reward for her high supervision quality, she received the Outstanding Mentor-Teacher Award from the Times Young Creative Awards twice (2019 and 2020).
