Dr Aixia Huang

Biography

At UAL, I work within LCC’s Research and Knowledge Exchange Directorate, providing research support to researchers and PhD students, including support for research funding applications and REF submission preparation.

I also co-organise the monthly PhD Exchange Seminar at LCC, where doctoral researchers present and discuss their work in progress in a supportive, interdisciplinary setting.

My research and teaching expertise include Chinese Studies, Gender Studies, Migration and Diaspora Studies, and Critical Theory. I hold a PhD in History from SOAS, University of London. My academic work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Gender & History and The Journal of the History of Sexuality. My work has received the Early Career Researcher Prize from the British Association for Chinese Studies. I am currently co-editing the Bloomsbury Academic volume 'A Cultural History of Trans Lives in the Long Eighteenth Century'.
