Biography

Jack Clarke is a multidisciplinary design practitioner with experience in print design, publishing, programming, web development, education, writing and research. He is lecturer in graphic design and digital media on the design programme and has taught at UAL in various capacities since 2016 across both BA and MA level courses.

In his teaching, Clarke is interested in developing alternative methods of technical understanding and production, particularly within new kinds of digital media. He is also intrigued by new forms of contextual writing and publishing which can be integrated into design practice.

Outside of his teaching work he often collaborates with artists, designers and smaller institutions on publishing projects, both physical and digital, in the United Kingdom and abroad. These collaborations are frequently focused on critical engagements with contemporary visual culture and politics and have taken the form of books, websites, conferences, applications and more.
