Chelsea alumna Sayoko Nakahara is curating ‘We Fragment, Collect and Narrate’, through winning the H+F Curatorial Grant 2012-2013. The generous and ambitious grant allows the FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais in close partnership with the private collector Han Nefkens (H+F Collection) to give international curators the opportunity to participate in the development of exhibition projects based on the collection of FRAC.
For the exhibition ‘We Fragment, Collect and Narrate’, Nakahara framed the concept and selected 24 international artists: Pawel Althamer, Cosima von Bonin, Carol Bove, Matthew Brannon, Marcel Broodthaers, Theo Cowley, Jeremy Deller, Haris Epaminonda, Hans-Peter Feldmann, Felix Gmelin, Daan van Golden, Hella Jongerius, Scott King, Josephine Meckseper, Boris Mikhailov, Sarah Otymeyer, Man Ray, Gerard Ruhm, Joachim Schmid and Joёlle Tuerlinckx, in addition to the guest artists: Julie Cockburn, Catherine Lommee, Julia Rometti & Victor Costales and Jan Wawrzyniak.
The exhibition will travel to the following venues: Cultuurcentrum Mechelen, Belgium (Oct-Dec 2013), Kunstmuseum Thun, Switzerland (Feb-Apr 2014), Galarie Robespierre, France (May-June 2014) and Leopold-Hoesch-Museum Düren, Germany (TBC).
