This Earth Day, the UAL Climate Emergency Network invite staff, students and partners from the creative industries and cultural sector to join us for an exciting programme of exhibitions and events taking place over 10 days.

Lucy Orta | The Lost Species performance
22 April | Canopy Market at Granary Square, King’s Cross
To mark Earth Day, Granary Square in King’s Cross will become the stage for three 10-minute performances, taking place at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm as part of Professor Lucy Orta’s continued exploration of The Lost Species.
Set against the backdrop of the three striking 60-foot 'Fabulae Naturae’ draperies adorning the Granary Building, the performance combines costume, dance and drumming.

Fair’s Fayre
21 -23 April | Granary Square, Kings Cross
Across 5 stalls at Canopy Market, UAL postgraduate makers and artists will trade works that explore the notion of climate justice
Stallholders include a hand-picked selection of artists, makers, thinkers, and creators working in the field of climate action and community building.
The Green House
24 - 28 April | Lethaby Gallery, Central Saint Martins
The Green House is an experiment in exploring climate justice, curated by UAL’s Climate Emergency Network.
This living exhibition and action hub brings together a diverse community of creative changemakers to get involved in developing responses to the impacts of climate change and generate effective creative responses to these issues.
The Network invites artists, designers, campaigners, educators and experts from diverse backgrounds to create a shared vocabulary around climate justice and explore opportunities for taking action and engaging the public..
An exciting line-up of events engaging students and staffwill coincide with the exhibition throughout the week:
- Discover Lucy Orta’s Fabulae Naturae installation of three awe-inspiring 60ft draperies adorning the Granary Building highlighting species loss in the UK.
- Amplify your individual agency by unpacking Climate Justice with the Climate Advocates.
- Nourish our collective imagination over a vegan breakfast with the Network
- Celebrate our entangled connection to moss in this participatory workshop
- Meet Collective Canvas, who will be painting a live mural on the Lethaby Gallery windows, responding to the notion of climate justice
- Experience a thought-provoking installation by Phil Barton at Granary Square Fountains, which highlights trising tides and the countries most at risk.
- Soothe some of your climate fears through craft in this recycled bag weaving workshop!
- Watch a series of Network films at The Green Screening, showing how purpose-led storytelling can inspire and bring about the change the world needs.
- Make time to repair and enhance your skills in stitching, patching, and mending with the Camberwell Repair Café and Renée Materials
- Make a zine with Roots + Routes and engage critical dialogues towards a more equitable and accountable sustainable fashion industry
- Share and learn together while becoming carbon literate with 'Carboned Out', one fun game at a time
- Take a guided tour of the alternative nature works from the Special Collections at LCC Library
UAL canteens plant-based takeover

The Climate Emergency Network is teaming up with Baxter Storey for Earth Day's plant-based takeover on Thursday 27 April. Six recipes have been developed by students in collaboration with Baxter Storey’s chefs, to be served on campus throughout the day.
