Presessional Academic English Programme
If you have an offer to study at UAL and need to improve and develop your English language skills, you can apply to study Presessional English before you start your main course.
Spend a few weeks preparing for your main UAL degree course, improving your English in London, experiencing academic life and learning about British culture.
Our Presessional English courses are accredited by the British Council and BALEAP. They are designed to help you to progress onto your main course of study at UAL, once you have successfully passed all of your Presessional assessments.
Please note that applications are now closed for all Presessional courses in 2018. Please check the website for updates - information about new courses for 2019 will be available soon.
There are different types of Presessional course depending on how much English language preparation you need. Find out which course is right for you below.
Before you apply
To apply for a place on a Presessional English course, you must first accept your UAL main course offer via the applicant portal. After this, you can apply for the right Presessional course for you using the links in the portal. Submitting an application does not mean you have booked a place. We will let you know by email whether you have a place. Places on some Presessional courses are limited and fill up quickly, so you should apply as early as possible before the deadline.
