Find out about the key actions and tasks you’ll need to complete to get started as a new or returning student.

Where to go when you get to CSM

New students

  • Follow signs for the Welcome desk where you will be met by a friendly face.
  • If you have completed enrolment, your ID card will be ready for you to collect.
  • If you have not enrolled, staff will be available to help with enrolment matters, including fees and visas.
  • As part of your School Welcome event you will be given a map and a tour of the College building to help you to settle in. Find out when your Welcome event is.

Returning students

The Student Centre in CSM Reception can help if you are experiencing any issues with re-enrolment.

Your Student ID

Your Student ID card gives you access to all UAL Colleges. Use it to enter College buildings and facilities and to borrow books and other resources from the libraries.

Once you’ve completed the online registration stage of enrolment, you'll get an email with instructions on how to collect your Student ID card.

If your Student ID card is lost, expired or faulty, contact the CSM Student Centre for guidance.

Get a locker

  • Students will be able to use Central Saint Martins lockers from 12 October 2026
  • To get a locker, visit our locker activation desk in The Crossing, Mon-Fri 12-16 October,10am - 2pm.
  • Get help for locker issues at our Troubleshooting desk at CSM Reception: 1-2pm Monday to Thursday every week, from Monday 19 October.

Lockers are accessed using your student ID card.

Join your Welcome event

Welcome events can help you discover more about being a Central Saint Martins student and what to expect from life at the College. Meet other students, hear from course staff and find out about the services and support available.

Standard information and any changes to building opening times at King's Cross and Archway during term time and holidays.

Shared spaces

Shared spaces include CSM Canteen, Student Centre, Loan Store, Platform Bar, Library, Lethaby Gallery, Museum & Study Collection - and practical information about bike storage, quiet spaces and showers.

arts shop

  • The CSM arts shop is based on the ground floor opposite the canteen, selling a wide range of art, fashion and specialist materials and tools. You can also access arts shops at any UAL College.

The CSM Student Centre has a dedicated, in-person team to support you with official matters such as ID cards, enrolment letters, forms and documentation. We can also help you find or access other student services.

Access the Centre via CSM reception.
