The Big Walls and Windows Project takes place annually, and gives one UAL Fine Art student the opportunity to create a temporary artwork on-site at Camberwell College of Arts. The project is sponsored by Liquitex and Cass Art who cover the material and equipment costs.
Ffi Farrer-Miles, a final year BA Fine Art: Painting student, was selected as this year’s winner of the project.
Ffi’s work explores the idea of conservation, aesthetics and colour chemistry through bold and abstract geometric painting. Her standout mural proposal takes inspiration from the British architect Maurice Bingham Adams, and celebrates the original Victorian stained-glass windows located at Camberwell College of Arts. Both sides of the wall have been designed in a vibrant pattern of abstraction, complementing and re-contextualising the Victorian heritage of the College.
