In our ‘One Year On’ series we catch up with graduates from the Class of 2014 to find out what they have been up to since graduating from Chelsea.
We spoke to Nicola Worsley, who studied BA Textile Design at Chelsea about her experience since graduation.
After graduation I moved out of London and got a job as a Marketing Designer at an international furniture company. This has given me so many opportunities. I travel for design weeks and exhibitions, I control the companies branding from graphics, photography and styling. I deal with Journalists and media. It’s a really exciting role.
I have transferred my skills cultivated from my textiles degree into a Marketing Designer position. Brand management is something I really enjoyed when creating my own print brand for the degree show and it helped me secure this creative position.
In the last year I headed up the creative direction for our 2015 campaign which involved a range of activities from choosing designs to editing photography. This was really exciting and received international coverage which was a great experience.
My advice for the class of 2015 would be to enjoy the Degree Show, don’t over complicate it! Let the primary focus be on your designs, just enjoy it and take advantage of any opportunities.
