To kick off the undergraduate Summer Show at Chelsea College of Arts this year, students and staff gathered in Chelsea’s Rootstein Hopkins Parade Ground last Friday for the presentation of the Chelsea Summer Show Awards 2015.

Given out by George Blacklock, the Dean of Chelsea, course tutors and representatives from the visiting organisations donating the prizes, these awards recognise the hard work and achievement the college’s graduating Textile, Fine Art, Interior & Spatial Design and Graphic Design students.

The Knights of the Round Table Award

The Honourable Society of the Knights of the Round Table was formed in London in 1720 by a group of actors, artists and literary friends to keep the values of King Arthur alive. One notable early member was Charles Dickens. Today The Society offers exciting opportunities to young people and awards grants to those who have made an exceptional start to their career.

At the Chelsea Summer Show Awards, they kindly offered a prize of £1,500 to BA Fine Art student Hannah Wareham. Hannah won the award for her ‘Stile’ sculpture.
