Matt Ashmore, who graduated from BA Graphic Design & Communication this July 2014, has won the Sky Arts Stings Competition! Ashmore directed, shot, edited and colour graded the film. You can view his winning submission on his website on the following link: Matt Ashmore Sky Arts Sting
The award which supports up and coming artists asks them to design a 20 second animation that reveals, creates or fills the word “Arts”.
Ashmore explains his winning submission’s plot:
“The sting revolves around a young boy who has an almost ritualistic space to go and exercise his imagination. Upon throwing his own paper plane, more coloured versions appear, portraying the sheer power our imagination can have.”
Asides from winning a £1000 cash prize, Ashmore’s video will air on the Sky Arts HD Channels with an on-air credit. We will keep an eye out for his work and are excited to see what he creates next!
