Results 2023 information for UAL Awarding Body centres

Please note: This information only applies to pre-degree students completing UAL
Awarding Body qualifications this summer.

Thank you to all centres for supporting UAL's ongoing regulatory compliance and its obligations to
the UK qualifications regulators by promptly responding to all requests relating to the Ofqual 2023
VTQ Action Plan.

When results will be released

Results will be released on the nationally set results dates this year, which are aligned with those
for General Qualifications. We will supply results to centres several days in advance to them being
shared with students (under strict embargo) to enable them to check that the results meet their
expectations and to prepare for the release to students. Should you find any issues with your
results, please contact the Operations team at operations.awarding@arts.ac.uk as early as
possible.

We will release results under embargo to centres through the portal on:

  • Thursday 10 August 2023 for Level 3 and 4 qualifications
  • Friday 18 August 2023 for Level 1 and 2 qualifications.

Centres must not share results to students until the national results days, which are:

  • Thursday 17 August 2023 for Level 3 and 4 qualifications
  • Thursday 24 August 2023 for Level 1 and 2 qualifications.

Grades are confidential. They must be stored securely and must not be shared externally with
students, parents, or members of the public, or internally with any staff not directly involved in the
grading process. Centres will be subject to the application of the UAL Sanctions Policy if
embargoed grades are released prior to the UAL release date and/or the above conditions and
deadlines are not met.

New contact point 3 moderation report

This year we have made some improvements to the moderation report which will streamline
quality processes for centres. The report summary has been removed from the report unless a
qualification required a grade review or regrade.

Supportive actions will remain and allow centres to respond in the following year to continue to
improve the delivery and processes of their qualifications where necessary. This change will make
it easier for centres to focus on the most relevant information to deliver high-quality qualifications
to their students.

External moderator reports will be available to centres on the portal from mid-August.

For information on how to access your report please visit the operational process guidance for
centres.

Grade Appeals Policy 2023.

Once a UAL Approved Centre has completed a Stage 1 grade appeal, if the learner is not happy
with the outcome or the centre has upheld the grade appeal, a centre must complete the online
Grade Appeal form and submit this along with supporting evidence.
