Tuition fees and scholarships

Students from the United States usually pay the overseas category of tuition fees. There are exceptions to this for those with long term residency or settled status in the UK.

If you’re exploring ways to fund your studies, you may be eligible for a range of US federal government and private loans to help with the cost of studying.

• US Federal Direct Loans are available to US students enrolled in an eligible course at UAL. These loans are funded by the US government as part of the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program.
• Private credit-based loans can be taken instead of or in addition to US federal loans to help students fund their studies. They can be a good option for students who are unable to access direct federal loans for various reasons.

A US Pre-Paid College Savings Plan (also known as a 529 plan) is a tax-advantaged investment account in the United States, designed to help families save for education expenses like college tuition and fees. Contributions grow tax-free, and withdrawals are tax-free as long as they’re used for qualified education costs.

UAL allows you to pay your tuition using a prepaid college savings plan. You can arrange this once you enrol in a course.

UAL US Undergraduate Scholarships

This means-tested scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver of between £18,000 and £36,000 (£6,000 to £12,000 per year across 3 years). It's for a full-time in person undergraduate course at one of UAL's Colleges and Institutes. Up to 25 scholarships are available for the 2026/27 academic year.

UAL US Postgraduate Scholarships

This means-tested scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver of up to £12,000. It's for a full-time in person taught master's course at one of UAL's Colleges and Institutes. Up to 30 scholarships are available for the 2026/27 academic year.

UAL Foundation and Pre-degree £7,000 International Scholarship

This multi-year UAL scholarship provides a £7,000 tuition fee waiver for the full duration of pre-degree and undergraduate study. Up to 16 scholarships are available for courses starting in 2026/27 academic year.

UAL International Postgraduate £10,000 Scholarship

This scholarship provides a £10,000 tuition fee waiver for a full-time or part-time taught master's course at 1 of UAL's Colleges and Institutes. Up to 288 scholarships are available for courses starting 2026/27 academic year.
