Lighting for Residential Interiors Short Course

Course description

From first considerations to calculating lighting levels, positioning fittings and creating the required atmosphere. By designing a lighting scheme for a specific space, you will learn all the fundamental principles. You will also learn how to draw up a lighting plan and specify the required fittings.

Course outcomes
You will leave with an understanding of the language and technology of lighting design, able to use natural and artificial lighting within interiors. What's more, you will speak to contractors and lighting designers, and take briefs from clients, with confidence.

  • Technical 'clutch' pencil size 0.5
  • Circle template
  • 45 degree set square
  • Eraser
  • Pair of scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Scale ruler with scales 1:50, 1:20, 1:25
  • Coloured pencils - 3 colours of your choice + yellows
