From September 2026, our popular Fashion Folio CSM course will run at the newly renovated Lime Grove building in West London, home to the UAL School of Pre-Degree Studies.

The move marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Fashion Folio students, who will now be part of a vibrant community of learners based at the beautiful heritage-listed building.

Fashion Folio Stage 2 is now open for applications and will run this autumn from 28 September 2026 to 11 December 2026. Applications close on 14 September 2026 (2 weeks before the start of the course).

Lime Grove’s creative history

The UAL School of Pre-Degree Studies site has been a space for creative arts education for over a century. Originally opened in 1908, the building went on to welcome students across a range of programmes, including embroidery, dressmaking, millinery and hairdressing. Read more about Lime Grove's history.

Today, Lime Grove is a hub of creativity for students from across the world to gain the practical skills they need to fuel their future design journeys.

Students have access to excellent facilities and equipment, including specialist workshops and inspiring social spaces to relax and connect with each other.

A space for new fashion perspectives

Our Fashion Folio CSM course has spent over a decade shaping the next generation of creative talent, guiding students to produce professional portfolios for undergraduate and postgraduate applications, employment opportunities and personal development, while nurturing alumni who have gone on to make their mark across the global fashion industry.

Fashion Folio alumni include Michael Halpern, Conner Ives, Paula Cánovas del Vas and Leeann Huang. See recent student work by following Fashion Folio CSM on Instagram.

The course is split into 3 stages and aims to challenge and inspire students to explore their preconceived ideas of fashion. Through a mixture of directed and independent study, students build a portfolio that reflects their unique fashion voice.

Stage 1 covers Fashion Folio fundamentals and is delivered online, while stages 2 and 3 guide students on portfolio preparation and presentation and run on campus at Lime Grove. Read more about each stage of the Fashion Folio course.

Shaping creative futures

Fashion Folio students learn the core visual communication skills that will enable them to express original design ideas in a meaningful way.

Lime Grove is the perfect place to find inspiration for creative fashion projects. Located in Shepherd’s Bush, the site is part of one of the most diverse communities in West London.

Students can browse the many textile shops in Shepherd’s Bush and explore the nearby Portobello Road, where the vintage and antique stalls in Portobello Road Market are well worth a visit. Read more about the area in UAL’s Lime Grove guide.
