Podcast Host Bobby Dowler, UAL Post-Grad Community Ambassador, studying MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins

For this episode Post-Grad Community Ambassador Bobby Dowler spoke to two of this year’s Language Art Project participants Esmeralda Momferratou and Laura Erviti about their collaborative experience meeting with students with different mother tongue languages, from various parts of the world (due to the Covid induced confinement restrictions), from various courses and collages within UAL’s vast network.

Esmeralda Momferratou and Laura Erviti

Laura Erviti (b 1990 in Barcelona, ES) is a visual artist who works and lives in Bristol in the UK. She has studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and is currently studying for an MA in Fine Arts Digital at CSM, UAL, London.

In her artworks, Laura explores the dialogues between tradition and change, between the chimerical and the political. The iconography in her compositions comes from her dreams, generating surreal scenes.

Esmeralda Momferratou (b 1991 in Athens, GR) is studying MA Fine Arts Digital at CSM, UAL. She previously studied BA Fine Art at CSM. Her work is predominantly oriented around video and documentary, while it includes a range of other media such as installation, painting, and performance. The constant dialogue between the visual arts and filmmaking informs and shapes her practice. She lives and works in Athens.
