UAL Carnival of Crisis

UAL's Carnival of Crisis demonstrates that the arts can – and must – respond to the climate and ecological emergency. Creative action will be manifested and mobilised through a series of events, which parallel the COP26 Climate Summit hosted by the UK in the context of the global environmental crisis.

Carnival of Crisis calls on creative changemakers everywhere to demonstrate the power of imagination, innovation, and collaboration to bring about environmental and social justice.

Hosted by the Climate Emergency Network, the Carnival will bring together UAL’s community of students, alumni and staff, along with our global network of arts universities, our partners and our publics.

Change Agents Bazaar

As part of the season, UAL’s Post-Grad Community will be running a UAL-wide Market (The Change Agents Bazaar) as part of the Carnival programme and coinciding with COP26. The stall will be led and curated by Post-Grad Interest Group: Change Agents a network for creative minds at UAL who have an active interest in designing for social change.

This 3-day market to feature the work of up to 20 UAL postgraduate student vendors whose work’s subject and/or process addresses cultural or environmental sustainability and / or the climate crisis.

Not only will the event be a celebration of postgraduate makers, artists, and craftspeople across UAL, but also a chance to support each other and explore what it means to be more ecocentric and environmentally conscious.
