Livi's story

Livi is among hundreds of UAL students realising their creative potential thanks to funding.

Finding out about UAL’s Vice-Chancellor's Postgraduate Scholarships was a huge influence on Livi Mills’ decision to take her studies further and apply for a masters course in MA Visual Arts: Printmaking. “I came to a point where I needed an MA in order to apply for the jobs I wanted. I found out about the scholarships at a UAL open day; it allowed me to take a step towards my goal to pursue a career in a subject I feel passionate about. It’s really changed my future prospects.”

Having had such a positive experience herself, what advice does Livi have for students interested in applying for a scholarship? “Research which scholarships are available to you – some are course specific and some are open to everyone. All the information you need is available online. Also check the application deadlines and be organised!”

Within the community atmosphere of Camberwell College of Arts, Livi works with a small group of passionate students. “I’ve recently been working on a series of prints looking at representing space in different ways using screen print, relief print and etching.” Livi also runs a number of short courses alongside her own studies.
