If you applied through UCAS, you need to accept your offer via UCAS.

  • You need to reply to each offer you receive.
  • You won’t be able to reply until you’ve had the outcome of all your UCAS applications.
  • UCAS will email you to let you know once this has happened and when you need to reply by.

Firm accept your chosen course.

  • If you firm accept an unconditional offer, your place is confirmed.
  • If you firm accept a conditional offer, you can pick a second offer as a back-up choice, in case you don’t meet your offer conditions. This would be your insurance acceptance. You’ll only take up your insurance choice if you don’t meet the conditions of your firm choice.
  • You need to decline any other offers.

Conditional offer

A conditional offer means you need to meet certain requirements to be able to take up your place. The conditions of your offer may vary; you may have academic entry requirements, an English language condition, or have been asked to provide additional information.

The conditions will be specified in your offer email, or via UCAS. Read your offer carefully and if you have any questions, contact us via your UAL Portal.

You’ll need to show you’ve met your offer conditions by uploading evidence, like scans or clear images of your results or certificates. How you do this will depend on certain factors. If you're a:

  • Home student or an International student that does not require a student visa, you’ll upload your evidence to your UAL Portal
  • International student requiring a student visa, you’ll be invited to upload evidence via Enroly CAS Shield.

Once you've met all conditions, your offer will be updated to unconditional. You won't receive a new offer letter, but don't worry, you’ll be able to see your updated offer in your UAL Portal.

Unconditional offer

If you receive an unconditional offer, it means you have no academic conditions or English language conditions to meet, based on the information provided in your application. You might still need to upload evidence of your qualifications.

To do this, log in to your UAL Portal, select the ‘my Application(s)’ tab, and upload scans or clear images of your results or certificates.

If you have more than one offer from UAL

You’ll need to decide which course you want to study and make it your Firm accept.

You can use your insurance choice for a second UAL course, but remember you’ll only take up your insurance choice if you don’t meet the entry requirements of your firm choice. For this reason, it’s recommended your insurance choice has lower entry requirements.

If you hold an offer for an undergraduate degree and a UAL Foundation or Level 3 pre-degree course, you can accept one course at each study level. You’ll need to confirm whether you’ll be studying your pre-degree or undergraduate course as soon as possible once you’ve received your results.

Paying your deposit

After you’ve accepted your offer, you’ll be asked to pay your deposit. We’ll contact you by email. We encourage you to pay your deposit within 14 days of accepting your offer.

We ask for a deposit payment to show you’re committed to joining us. At enrolment, the deposit payment is deducted from the tuition fee owed.

Don't wait to pay until we’ve confirmed your study offer is unconditional. If for any reason you don’t meet the conditions of your study offer, you’ll receive a full refund on your deposit payment.

Log in to your UAL Portal and then:

  • go to 'my Application(s)'
  • select the 'Pay your deposit' button.

You’ll need to pay your deposit using Flywire, our payment processing partner.

Learn more about making payments using Flywire.

Financial sponsorship deposit waivers

If your full tuition fees are being paid by an official financial sponsor accepted by UK Visas and Immigration, you can request a deposit waiver via your UAL Portal. This means asking us to confirm we don’t need a deposit payment from you.

English language conditions

If your offer has an English language condition, you need to upload results of an approved English language test. See which tests are accepted.

If you need to improve your English, consider taking a UAL Pre-sessional English course. We offer online and in-person courses for UAL offer holders.

If you pass the pre-sessional course and meet any other conditions of your study offer, you can progress to your undergraduate academic course at UAL without needing to take another IELTS or equivalent English test.

Student visas and 'confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS)'

If you need a student visa, you’ll need a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) number before you can apply. To be eligible to receive your CAS, you must:

  • accept your offer
  • pay your deposit
  • meet all offer conditions
  • provide any additional information we request.

CAS numbers are issued to eligible students from 3 months before the course start date.
