Smoking and vaping

In the UK, smoking is not allowed inside public buildings so please don’t smoke or vape inside Lime Grove.

If you want to smoke or vape, please go out to the courtyard and stay at least 5 metres away from any doors or openings.

Fire safety at Lime Grove

If you discover a fire, activate the fire alarm at the nearest call point located at all emergency exits.

If the alarm sounds, evacuate the building by the safest, shortest route. Once out of the building onto Lime Grove, move away from the building into the public areas for at least 20 minutes.

Do not stop to collect personal belongings; do not use lifts; and do not re-enter the building until you have been told it is safe to do so.

While it’s unlikely that there will be a fire in one of our buildings, we ask all of our staff and students to treat every alarm as a real emergency.

First aid

First aid kits are located at reception and throughout Lime Grove. We have 2 defibrillators on site. If you need a first aider, please call or visit the front desk at Lime Grove.

Mental health first aid

Students who are concerned about their own or someone else’s mental health should contact the Student Counselling Service. For student mental health or wellbeing assistance, dial 020 7514 6426 or email studenthealth@arts.ac.uk.

Mental Health First Aiders are in all Colleges and can provide immediate support to people in crisis.

Find the advice and support you need to look after your health and wellbeing while studying on our wellbeing hub.

University life can be exciting, creative and full of opportunity, but it’s natural to need a bit of support along the way. UAL has a wide range of support services that are always here for you.
