Exploring how storytelling can drive social impact.

Impact storytelling is an emerging field. While media and the arts have long been harnessed for social change, these efforts have historically been dispersed and uncoordinated. Only in the past 2 decades has impact storytelling begun to take shape as a distinct, nascent field — what we describe as an “impact storytelling ecosystem” (Mirzoyants A., Eagle R., and Sewell, H: 2024). This ecosystem brings together a broad spectrum of disciplines, from arts and culture to campaigning, media, and technology, united by a shared purpose: achieving long-term social good through the power of story.

Alongside traditional research, we believe advancing this field requires experimentation. We forge spaces for creative exploration and multidisciplinary collaboration, bridging the often-siloed worlds of advocacy, media, and the arts.

24/25 Storytelling Training Fellowship

Our new Storytelling Training Fellowship offers up to eight fellows a free training programme in impact production. Fellows will learn the skills of impact production, routes to impact and develop impact plans and campaigns for their projects.

Meet the Fellows.
