  • want to visit UAL for either 3 or 6 months as an ‘extra’ part of your research degree study**
  • will be undertaking a piece of research at UAL related to your MPhil or PhD, which would benefit from our specialist research environment.

* Your course must be recognised as equivalent to a UK MPhil or PhD, as determined by Ectics.
** This programme is not accredited and will not constitute part of your current course.

What you'll get

As a visiting research student at UAL, you will:

  • be supported by an academic mentor in your field of study for the duration of your visit*
  • have access to the Doctoral School and all UAL buildings, libraries and academic support
  • benefit from our Researcher Development Programme and any postgraduate research events at the College/Institute you are enrolled in.

* Note this mentor is not a replacement for your ongoing supervision by your home university.

Please note that access to specialist resources cannot be guaranteed and should be discussed at the interview.
