Photography, Traditional And Contemporary Practice
As the debate continues with the cross over from film photography to digital photography, beginners coming to the photographic industries are very often unaware of the quality of the traditional photograph and how this can be integrated with digital media to benefit from the use of both ways of working. The course aims to illustrate a variety of traditional and new media to demonstrate how this is playing an important role in contemporary photography today.
On this course, students will learn the basic functions of operating a camera. They will learn this both through digital cameras and traditional cameras. The course will then move forward by combining both methods of working and showing the advantage of the marriage of both. The course then looks at the contemporary photographic industry and concentrates in producing contemporary projects using methods both old and new. This is an ideal course to kick-start a portfolio or get that project you wanted to start on your own way in photography. We will cover Photographic Theory, Image Structure, Shooting Methods, Digital Photoshop, Negative scanning and Image output to print. We will also visit the dark room and focus on narrative image structure through films and cinema-photography. This is an exciting and busy course were the tutors are always happy and welcome to answer individual needs.
Please note: This course is for students aged 18 and older
