Short course
Bomber Jacket Short Course
Course description
Course overview
Designed to offer an introduction to the making process of a unisex bomber jacket, this course demonstrates how to easily finish a fully lined garment.
With guidance from the tutor, students gain an insight into troubleshooting, making, altering and re-designing during the making stage. The aim is to help students build confidence in making and using sewing machines through sewing tasks and tests.
The course is designed to make students more comfortable altering and redesigning pieces in the making process to help them jump into final garment construction sooner, which means that there will be more time for finishing garments to a high standard at the end.
Students will have access to prerecorded video content and will be encouraged to work outside of class to continue developing their skills.
Who this course is for
This course is aimed at home sewers, beginner designers and students who want to build confidence making unisex outerwear pieces in the fashion product category. It would be an excellent fit for hobbyists, professional sewers or anyone looking to create a new fashion piece or a thoughtful gift.
The course would also be a great choice for students ready to start university with beginner to intermediate sewing experience who want to better understand how the inside of a garment can affect the outside aesthetic.
You will need to be comfortable using an industrial sewing machine and hand sewing (beginner to intermediate), as a lot of our work will be dependent on this
