Course description

Course overview

Designed for learners with previous experience of digital fashion software, this intermediate short course introduces the workflows used to create, animate, and present garments in real-time 3D environments.

Through practical projects and guided demonstrations, you'll learn how to develop a customised MetaHuman character, adapt garments in CLO3D, and bring fashion assets into Unreal Engine for animation, simulation, and rendering.

You'll also explore industry-standard tools such as CloLiveSync, gaining insight into how digital garments can be used across visualisation, virtual production, gaming, and interactive experiences.

The course demystifies key Unreal Engine workflows while encouraging new approaches to designing and presenting digital fashion.

By the end of the course, you'll have worked on a rendered fashion sequence and an interactive character wearing your own customised garments, giving you a practical foundation for further experimentation in real-time fashion design.

Please note, to get the most out of this course, students are encouraged to spend more time familiarising themselves with the software and completing additional tasks up to 3 hours per session.

This intermediate level course is ideal for those who have previously used digital patterncutting software, such as Clo3D or Marvellous Designer, and want to learn how else they may use their knowledge, as well as those who want to gain a practical understanding of the optimised pipeline of creating digital garments for real-time rendering.

Tutor

Zoe Vanezis

Zoe Vanezis is a digital fashion designer, worldbuilder, and educator working at the intersection of fashion, real-time technology, and immersive storytelling. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, they later returned to teach a course exploring how 3D software can expand and transform the contemporary fashion design process.

They currently teach at Central Saint Martins, where they introduced Unreal Engine into the fashion curriculum across multiple pathways, helping students explore new workflows connecting fashion design with real-time environments, virtual production, and interactive media. 

Zoe is an Unreal Authorized Instructor and has presented their work for Unreal Engine at Unreal Fest in Stockholm on the evolving relationship between fashion, real-time technology, and digital environments.
