Footwear Design Short Course

Course description

Under the expert guidance of the tutor, this inspirational and concise footwear design course will take you through all the processes involved in designing a variety of footwear styles, including sneakers. Youll start by looking at how shape and function affect footwear design and learn drawing techniques to enable you to develop your own design ideas.

This course will include different ways of applying colour and texture through traditional skills and selecting materials and trims for your designs, giving you the required foundation skills ideal for moving forward.

Once confident in the basics of designing and researching, you will work on a project to help bring your research and design skills to production level and to gain an understanding of technical terminology.

Drawing and presentation will be covered in a series of technical workshops. This is a design course and doesn't involve footwear construction.
