Course description
The importance of an inspiration or concept for a fashion collection cannot be overstated. It is a very necessary starting point for a strong contemporary collection.
In this course you will learn how to develop a whole fashion collection from inspiring images, objects or abstract thought. Inspiration can be found in the obvious source of historical clothing but also in nature, art, abstract forms - even from a mundane object such as a bottle of milk!

Please note: This course is for students aged 18 and older

- Our tutors will explain things in easy to understand, accessible English. If they need to use any special terminology they will make sure they explain what they mean.

By looking at good and bad taste, beauty and ugliness and questioning why we make the choices we make, this course will help you to find new ways of designing and to develop your personal fashion design signature.
You will look at the work of contemporary fashion designers, their aesthetics and tastes, which will inspire you and help you find your own creative approach.
Several books of personal inspiration will be produced that can feed your creativity for years.
