Starting an interior design business will provide you with the essential skills to manage your business as a professional interior designer. Gain confidence facing the client as a designer, charging for creative time and managing an interior design project.

You will be guided through all the project management steps in detail - including taking a design brief, structuring your design project, sourcing and coordinating suppliers, invoicing, and dealing with insurance and legal issues.

You will learn how to market yourself as an interior designer and manage a design project from beginning to end. We will also discuss approaches to charging for your creative time appropriately.

You'll take part in a number of practical exercises and classroom discussions too and receive advice in relation to the advantages of using social media to promote your interior design business.

Tutor Description

Matteo is the inspiring force behind Matteo Bianchi Studio. Always with a smile on his face, Matteo has an eye for quirky details and a passion for bold and balanced design solutions. His bubbly personality allowed him to collaborate with some of the most prestigious clients and unique product design companies in the world.  Originally from Venice, Matteo trained at the University of the Chelsea College of Arts where he now also teaches. Matteo had a dream to become an interior designer 10 years ago: he is now living the dream and successfully leading a global design consultancy. 
Matteo Bianchi Studio was founded in 2007 in London and made by creative and talented Designers, Matteo Bianchi Studio is a distinguished international Interior Design practice that has already successfully developed more than 110 projects worldwide.

The studio’s mission is to create bold and stylish interiors to express your brand (or personality) at its best. We consider every project as unique. For every each one of them, we love to make our clients visions, our own, and to find an elegant, original but yet clever way to bring their dreams to reality.

Online short course materials

To take part in the Online sessions you will need

  • An up-to-date web browser (we recommend Chrome)
  • Microphone and headphones (a headset with a microphone function is recommended. The built-in microphone in your device would also be fine)
