Starting a Jewellery Business Short Course

Course description

This is course for anyone who wants to start a jewellery business - whether they want to be a designer, a maker, wholesaler or retailer - and is for those who are starting a new business venture. We will cover all aspects of running a business from health and safety to buying and selling, building your brand and finding your customers. By the end of the course, you will understand how this business works, the history and laws relating to hallmarking, how to cost a job and effectively organize your time so that you play to your own strengths.

Please note: This course is for students aged 18 and older

  • Our tutors will explain things in easy to understand, accessible English. If they need to use any special terminology they will make sure they explain what they mean.
  • New methodologies will be explained or demonstrated

A certificate of completion:

  • You've put the work in so we want to make sure you have something to show for it! 
  • As long as you attend a minimum of 80% of your classes, we will provide you with a certificate of attendance.  
  • However we always recommend you attend all of the classes so that you get the most out of the experience!  
  • Certificates are a great addition to your CV.

The tech requirements: 

  • A recent computer with a recent operating system 
  • An up-to-date web browser. (It would be advisable to ensure you have access to two separate web browsers, we recommend Safari and Google Chrome)
  • A headset with microphone/headphones is recommended
