Open call for PhD students to present research to a live audience
Setup by Lucy Hayhoe in the Photographic studios, poster by Fred Kavanagh

This is a rolling opportunity open to all current PhD researchers and recent alumni.

Post-Grad Community invite PhD researchers and recent alumni from across UAL to present their research at a neutral campus, in front of a live audience.

Audiences will largely comprise of postgraduate taught students, although invites will be extended to UAL's wider student and staff body. Attendees will be encouraged to critically engage with the research via a Q&A at the end.

Beyond the live event, we will capture an audio recording of the presentation to produce a 30 minute podcast. Finally, a videographer will be present to capture engaging profile pieces for the researchers, enabling their practice and external creative endeavours to reach larger audiences. All will be made available on the Post-Grad Conversations page. See an example of a previous PhD Presents.

To take part, please email the following information to f.kavanagh@arts.ac.uk:

  • An outline of your research.
  • Accompanying visuals that would be present at the event
  • Any experience you’ve had presenting your work on camera (not a requirement)

If you have any questions, please contact Fred Kavanagh: f.kavanagh@arts.ac.uk
