Panel Discussion: Latinos Creative Society present their first official event
UAL’s association have prepared a panel discussion to learn about artists and how living in the UK’s capital has influenced over their heritage.
On February 21st at 7 PM, Latinos Creative Society will be hosting their first event as a collective: What does it mean to be a contemporary creative Latin American in London? at the Latin American House in London (10 Kingsgate, NW6 4TA, closest station: Kilburn High Road).
Six members of the creative collective will be presenting about their practices in an open space that will invite the audience to reflect and discuss about their perspectives. The Argentinian fashion designer Anabella Bergero will mediate the event. The panelists are confirmed as the following:
- Kate Bautista – Mexican – Fashion Designer: Being an American Mexican
- Susana Uvidia – Ecuadorian – Visual Artist: Deconstructing Heritage
- Victoria Maldonado – Venezuelan – Fashion Designer: Venezuelan Identity
- Isaac López de Reza – Mexican – Visual Artist: Performance and Politic Criticism
- Tere Chad – Chilean – Visual Artist: Balancing Haptic Sensitivity and New Techonologies
- Juan Covelli – Colombian: Object Decolonization in the Digital Era

Many members of the Latinos Creative Society have experienced the amusement of people exclaiming to them – ‘You’re the first person from your country I have met in my life’ – Therefore, this creative collective has decided to organise their first official event to open up debate about what it means to be a contemporary creative Latin American in London”
