Post-Grad Community

UAL is home to more than 7,000 postgraduate students working across the fields of art, design, screen, communication, fashion, media and performance.  Within our six world-renowned colleges and the Creative Computing Institute, we aim to form a creative network of artists, designers and innovators.

Post-Grad Community is an inclusive platform for UAL postgraduate students and alumni to share work, find opportunities and connect with other creatives within the University and beyond.

Ambassadors assist with creating innovative and sociable online or face to face extra-curricular events and act a point of contact for the Post-Grad Community across colleges and courses.

Meet our new Team of Ambassadors:

Hello friends from far and wide! I'm Tra Nhu, an illustrator and art director from Vietnam. I'm currently a MA Illustration student at Camberwell College of Arts, and here I have uncovered my newfound passion for printmaking and ceramics.

As an Ambassador, I'm looking forward to facilitating events and opportunities for members to learn from others' practices and experiences, to network and collaborate proactively. The Post-Grad Community is such an energizing and welcoming environment for interdisciplinary exchange between members of different fields and backgrounds.

I'm looking forward see you at Post-grad Community events soon! I'm always eager to see what everyone has been making, so please feel free to reach out via Instagram.

MA Curating and Collections, Chelsea College of  Arts 2024

Hello! My name is Charmaine. I'm a curator-in-training and bedroom guitarist from Singapore. I did my BA in psychology and researched education and education psychology for several years. However, I've since settled into a new home in MA Curating and Collections at Chelsea. My practice is driven by my interests in Southeast Asian heritage, constructivist theories of learning and metacognitive experiences in exhibitions, sound practices and subcultures.

As a Post-Grad Community Ambassador, I hope to organise inclusive and engaging events that allow for genuine connection, building new friendships and opportunities for meaningful collaboration.

I'm Winnie, and I'm from Abuja, Nigeria. I work as an artist, maker, designer, and business owner. I am committed to using design as a force for social change, and I look for fresh, inclusive solutions to time-honoured issues. Travelling, photography, and abstract ideas all intrigue me. As a Post-Grad Community Ambassador, my goal is to close the gap that exists between postgraduate students at the six UAL institutions.

MA Fashion Futures, London College of Fashion, 2024

Hello! I’m Abi.

I grew up in rural Wales but have spent the last 6 years in Brighton. As a photographer and director, I’m really interested in how we can use fashion and technology to connect with nature, ourselves and our communities, while living in urban environments.

I’m excited to be a Post-Grad Ambassador this year, as I genuinely believe community is the key to combating the climate crisis. As founder of events platform @art.we.ar I’ve realised the importance of showcasing creativity that drives towards a better future in the arts. I hope to plan events with a focus on skill sharing and practical industry knowledge, so that as postgraduate students, we feel supported to pave our own way ahead.

I’m looking forward to meeting you all at future events, and building links across UAL and beyond. Feel free to reach out anytime.

MA Public Relations, London College of Communications, 2025

Hi there! My name is Zina, I’m an MA Public Relations student from South East London and I’m so excited to be a Post-Grad Community Ambassador this year!

I’m hugely interested in popular culture, fan culture and internet culture; three very cool cultures that I surround myself with a lot! I’m also very into podcasting and film as a way to facilitate conversation so hopefully i’ll be able to merge my two passions and create some cool content for the Post-Grad Community, as well as getting to know like-minded people too!

MA Virtual Reality, London College of Communication, 2024

Hello! My name is Jana Abou Nasr, and I am pursuing an MA in Virtual Reality at LCC. I have always been interested in how technologies can be integrated into design disciplines and how storytelling is a powerful tool in creating immersive experiences using different media. I come from Jordan, and it’s my first time studying in the UK. Being a Post-Grad Student Ambassador gives me the opportunity to be more involved with other students, especially as an international student. Furthermore, I am looking forward for us students, of different majors and backgrounds, to share our skills with one another while creating a social community at UAL. I believe that our university days cannot be repeated, so let’s make the best of it!

MA Fine Art, Central Saint Martins, 2025

Hello! My name is Kat. I am originally from Birmingham UK, but I have been living in and around London since 2015. I am an artist and I make sculptures and moving image works. My main interest is art (is that cheating?!) but I also love writing, running, going to the cinema, the women's super league and my dog.

As a Post-Grad Community Ambassador,  I hope to create events, resources and opportunities that support the needs of LGBTQIA+ postgrad students. I am looking forward to meeting the postgrad community!
