The Sanctuary Undergraduate Scholarship

The Sanctuary Undergraduate Scholarship of £6,000 per year (£18,000 in total per award) is available for 8 home refugee students

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Sanctuary Undergraduate Scholarship students must be:

  • considered a home student for tuition fees purposes
  • accepted on any full-time undergraduate course at University of the Arts London starting in September 2026
  • have a household income of £25,000 or below per annum
  • a refugee OR from a forced migration background
  • have 1 of the following statuses:
    • indefinite or definite leave to remain
    • refugee status
    • humanitarian protection
    • permanent residency.

  • £6,000 per year (£18,000 in total for each award)
  • For 8 Home refugee students
  • For course costs and living expenses
  • Accepted on any undergraduate course at UAL.

The scholarship will be assessed based on financial need. It will provide a contribution towards material costs and living expenses for the duration of the course except the placement year.

Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship and those who will benefit from undergraduate studies to realise their full potential.

Applications for this scholarship must be made by filling in an online application form. The eligible students will have access to the application in their applicant portal.

Closing Date: 11pm (UK time) Friday 26 June 2026.

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Receiving payment

The scholarships will  provide a contribution of £6,000 per year (£18,000 in total)  towards course costs and living expenses.

Living expense payments will be paid in termly instalments via BACS to the award recipients.
