The Curriers BA Placement Bursary
The Curriers BA Placement Bursary is offering £3,323 to 1 Home or EU student undertaking the Diploma in Professional Studies – Year Placement in Industry and enrolled on the BA Cordwainers Fashion Accessories: Product Design and Development course at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.
To be eligible for the Curriers BA Placement Bursary students must be:
- Home or EU fee status.
- Undertaking Diploma in Professional Studies – Year Placement in Industry at London College of Fashion.
- Enrolled on the BA Cordwainers Fashion Accessories: Product Design and Development course at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.
In common with other Livery Companies, the Cordwainers Company was, in the early and middle ages, responsible for the governance and quality control of its trade in the City of London and the education and training of craftsmen through the system of apprenticeships. This early involvement in education and training has continued to the present day.
The Cordwainers Hardship fund is intended to help students who have genuine and unavoidable financial difficulties and are struggling with their living costs despite having received all financial support available to them. The Fund acts as a safety net for students in financial difficulty rather than their main source of income.
The Fund is open only to home students (overseas and EU students are not eligible to apply) to help them remain in higher education, particularly those students who need financial help to meet costs that cannot be met from any other sources of funding.
These bursaries are presented strictly on the basis of financial need and eligible students must satisfy the University’s hardship fund criteria.
Applications for this scholarship must be made by filling in an online application form. More information is provided in the guidance notes:
Closing date: 1pm, Tuesday 7 May 2019
The scholarship will provide a contribution towards your tuition fees, course costs and living expenses.
Tuition fees will be paid directly from the award into the University’s Tuition Fees account. Living expense and materials/course costs payments will be paid in termly instalments to the award recipient.
