About
In October 1944 the R. White Benevolent Fund was established to support ex-employees of R. White's Soft Drink Company. The Company was at one point one of the major soft drink manufacturers in the world. Its first product was ginger beer, but it is most famously known for its lemonade.
It had a major factory in Albany Road and was closely associated with Camberwell and Peckham. As the number of ex-employees have declined the Fund is keen to support charities and worthy causes in the Camberwell and Peckham area. The R. White’s Benevolent Fund Scholarship is an exciting new opportunity which the Fund are proud to offer to one successful scholar this academic year.
The scholarship will be assessed on the basis of financial need and will provide a contribution of £11,000 per year towards course costs and living expenses for the duration of the course except the placement year.
Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship and those who will benefit from undergraduate studies to realise their full potential.
