About

Fashion is the golden thread of the Haberdashers’ Company.

Until the mid-1600s the Haberdashers were fashion retailers, specialising in accessories. From gloves to handbags the Haberdashers were experts in this unique and dedicated trade.

Since that time, the purpose of the Haberdashers’ Company has evolved. Alongside its educational and charitable traditions, it continues to maintain links with its fashion heritage by partnering a wide range of fashion educational and entrepreneurial establishments. Grants and scholarships are awarded to the Royal College of Art, the Royal School of Needlework, Cockpit Arts, City & Guilds and the University of East London.

Our partnership with the London College of Fashion further establishes the Haberdashers’ desire to maintain its roots in its fashion past while driving forward 21st century vision and excellence. The Haberdashers’ Company embraces creativity, diversity and innovation and is proud to offer the Haberdashers’ Scholarship in recognition of this.

The Haberdashers take a keen interest in the progress made by each of their scholars and the contribution they make to the world of fashion. You will be asked to share details of your development and how your studies and achievements help shape and further your aspirations and career.
