H&M Sustainable Fashion & Journalism Awards

The H&M Sustainable Fashion & Journalism Awards of £4,000 each are available to 4 students enrolled on the final year of the BA (Hons) Fashion Design and the BA Fashion Journalism Pathway on the BA Fashion Communication courses at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the H&M Sustainable Fashion & Journalism Award students must be:

  • considered a Home student for tuition fee purposes
  • must demonstrate a commitment to sustainability and/or sustainable innovation in their work
  • enrolled in the final year of a full-time BA Fashion Design course at Central Saint Martins, UAL starting in September 2025 or
  • enrolled in the final year of a full-time BA Fashion Journalism Pathway on the BA Fashion Communication course at Central Saint Martins, UAL starting in September 2025.

About

H&M has collaborated with Central Saint Martins to launch the H&M Sustainable Fashion & Journalism Awards. These awards will recognize and support talented BA Fashion and BA Fashion Journalism students who are passionate about sustainability and have demonstrated a commitment to sustainable innovation in their work.

The Award recipients will receive support including invaluable mentorship and networking opportunities from H&M’s head office team.

Both awards will be assessed based on financial need and academic merit. It will provide a contribution towards course fees, living costs and assistance with the cost of degree show materials. Students will also be assessed on their commitment to sustainability and/or sustainable innovation in their work.

BA Fashion Award recipients will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at the annual H&M Showroom exhibition organized and managed by H&M at their offices in Oxford Street in London.

The award recipient on the Journalism Pathway of the BA Fashion Communication course will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Donor on the production of a press release and an internal newsletter related to and promoting the awards.

Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship.

Applications for this scholarship must be made by filling in an online application form. More information is provided in the guidance notes:

Closing date: 11PM (UK Time) Monday 15 December 2025.

The panel will be scheduled for February or March 2026. The date will be communicated to shortlisted students.

Receiving payment

The scholarship will provide a contribution towards your course costs and living expenses.

Course costs and living expense payments will be paid in termly instalments to the award recipients.
