Cordwainers BA Placement Bursary

The Cordwainers BA Placement Bursary of £4,500 each is available to 2nd year undergraduate Home or International students currently enrolled on the BA Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Innovation course at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.

To be eligible for the Cordwainers BA Placement Bursary students must be:

  • currently enrolled in the second year of the full-time BA Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Innovation course at London College of Fashion
  • undertaking the Diploma of Professional Studies placement in the industry year commencing in September 2023.

In common with other livery companies, the Cordwainers Company was, in the early and middle ages, responsible for the governance and quality control of its trade in the City of London and the education and training of craftsmen through the system of apprenticeships. This early involvement in education and training has continued to the present day.

The scholarship will be assessed on the basis of financial need and academic merit. It will provide a contribution towards course tuition fees and living expenses.

Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship and those who will benefit from undergraduate studies to realise their full potential.

Applications for this scholarship must be made by filling in an online application form. More information is provided in the guidance notes:
