What sort of collaborative projects will I work on?

Students on this course regularly collaborate across disciplines on creative projects. One standout example is the annual Sue Ryder Show, a partnership between UAL, Sue Ryder and Lloyds Bank that explores sustainability through fashion.

Students begin by working with donated garments from Sue Ryder shops. Fashion media students restyle and photograph the pieces, creating editorial imagery that is later exhibited as part of the AfterFASHION showcase. The garments are then passed to design students, who deconstruct and reconstruct them into bold runway looks, transforming pre-loved clothing into conceptual fashion pieces.

The final show takes place at Merchant Taylors’ Hall in the City of London, where IISF students present their work to an audience of industry professionals, sponsors and charity supporters. Students take part as designers, stylists and even models, bringing their ideas to life on the runway.

The event has raised over £65,000 for Sue Ryder, and students are now exploring opportunities to exhibit and potentially sell their work in a luxury pre-loved retail space in London, turning a course project into a real-world platform for sustainable fashion.
