Creative Enterprise Awards - winners announced!

UAL’s Creative Enterprise Awards took place on Wednesday 14 July 2021. The Awards are funding and support packages from UAL’s Careers and Employability to help grow new business ideas and nurture enterprising initiatives developed by UAL students and graduates. Due to social distancing measures, this year the awards were hosted live on YouTube.

This year’s partners included: Cockpit ArtsAdobe, B Artmonsky, The DotsCreative Champs and IBM iX

Nine winners and runners up walked away with a share of prizes including: industry mentoring, showcasing opportunities, specialist business training and grants of up to £5,000.

The winners and runners up are:

Maker - Open to individuals whose primary business model is to produce and sell creative work or products. In partnership with: Cockpit Arts.

  • Runner up: By Wuzzy
  • Winner: The Amateur Weather Observers

Social Enterprise - Open to individuals or companies with socially-led objectives or ethical or sustainable practises at the heart of what they do. In partnership with Becky Artmonsky.

  • Winner: Chamiah Dewey Fashion

Community project - Open to projects that have a focus on community engagement or intervention. In partnership with Creative Champs.

  • Winner: Platform Black

Technology - Celebrates businesses or individuals whose work demonstrates innovative uses of technology, including: digital technologies, engineering, production and science. In partnership with: Adobe

  • Winner: HelpingYourself

Freelancer - Open to self-employed individuals or small companies who work on a contract basis to provide a creative service to clients. In partnership with The Dots

  • Winner: REHAP

Innovation - An original, new or different product or service that addresses a clear market need. In partnership with: IBM iX

  • Winner: Blackmarket Refills

Graduate Showcase - A new UAL award for graduating students that have demonstrated entrepreneurial potential in their Graduate Showcase.

  • Runners up: Kun: Galaxies & Nebulas; and Beans on Toast
  • Winner: Fixed-Sail Artificial Jellyfish
