Student Success Spotlight: UAL Launches New Digital Dissertation Collection

There is now a a brand new way to showcase your academic work — and discover inspiration from peers — thanks to the launch of the university’s Digital Dissertation Collection, an exciting new online space created to support learning, research, and creative exploration.

The initiative provides easier access to high quality examples of past dissertations, without having to book appointments, travel between sites, or rely on limited printed copies. We are developing a collection that lives online, in one easily searchable place.

A New Home for Student Scholarship

Hosted on SharePoint and accessible exclusively to UAL students and staff, the repository brings together a growing collection of BA and MA dissertations across the Colleges. Each dissertation is:

• Anonymised, displaying only the title, year, and course

• Published only with the author’s permission

• Available for up to five years

• Carefully selected by academic teams to reflect strong examples of work

This means you can explore real dissertations from your course area and see the different ways other students have handled research, structure, methodology, and academic writing — all while maintaining the original authors’ privacy.

LCC and LCF Lead the Way

London College of Communication (LCC) and London College of Fashion (LCF) are the first Colleges to have examples uploaded, with more expected as the project continues to grow.
