Biography

Zhou Zhou is a media artist and PhD researcher based between UAL Creative Computing Institute and London Contemporary Dance School. His interdisciplinary research investigates the frontiers of human-machine co-creation, utilizing computational signal processing, machine learning, and embodied practice. His current doctoral work explores real-time improvisational frameworks between adaptive AI and human performers, specifically addressing agency, ethics, and the dynamics of embodied interaction.

As an artistic director, Zhou treats computational systems as active dramaturgical materials, staging technology-mediated storytelling. His performances have been staged internationally across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. His contributions to the field have been recognized with prestigious international honors, including the MA/IN Award, the Arts and Artificial Intelligence Award, and the frame:work New Talent ’24. Currently, Zhou is a lecturer at Norwich University of the Arts and an associate lecturer at University of the Arts London, teaching across creative computing, machine learning, and AI.
