Sacha Robehmed

Biography

Sacha Robehmed (she/her) is a design researcher. She is also currently an ESRC-funded PhD student in Media, Communications and Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she researches refugee digital labour in Lebanon.

Sacha tries to understand people’s lived experiences of digital technologies, particularly in the majority world; and the actual or potential exclusion/inclusion and inequalities exacerbated by digital technologies.

Her past work is at the intersection of digital rights and humanitarian response, and she has experience across diverse topics including biometric identity, mobile money, automated messaging and chatbots, social media algorithms, digital risks, and data protection. Sacha has consulted with organisations including CIVICUS, International Civil Society Centre, International Rescue Committee, GIZ, Oxfam, SMEX, the Engine Room, and Throneless Tech. She has lived and worked in Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq for the last decade.
