Sabinna Rachimova

Biography

Sabinna Rachimova is a Lecturer in Creative Enterprise at the Fashion Business School, London College of Fashion, UAL, where she serves as unit and pathway lead on MA Fashion Entrepreneurship & Innovation and MA Global Fashion Retailing. She is also the founder of the award-winning fashion label and consultancy SABINNA and co-founder of Fashion Revolution Austria. Her work sits deliberately at the intersection of fashion education and industry: a practitioner-researcher, she brings over a decade of experience as a fashion entrepreneur and sustainability advocate directly into her teaching, and draws on her academic practice to interrogate how the industry itself might change.

Sabinna's research centres on participatory pedagogy and student-led approaches to sustainability and circularity in fashion higher education. She is particularly interested in how creative enterprise education can equip students to become agents of systemic change, and in closing the gap between industry realities and classroom practice. Her scholarship is shaped throughout by her dual identity as an educator and a practising entrepreneur.
Alongside her academic role, Sabinna continues to consult, supporting fashion start-ups and educational institutions in building meaningful, future-facing strategies. Through SABINNA she developed a conscious label and consultancy recognised internationally, and as co-founder of Fashion Revolution Austria she leads on policy reform and supply chain transparency. A graduate of Central Saint Martins (Fashion Design) and the University of Cambridge (MSt, Sustainability Leadership), she combines creative training with strategic and sustainability expertise. Her work has featured in Forbes, Vogue, WWD, and Eco-Age, and has been recognised through the Fashion Futures Award (2017), Forbes 30 Under 30 DACH (2019), Drapers' Ones to Watch (2022), and the UAL Arts Award for Social Justice and Sustainability (2024 and 2026).

As an immigrant woman working across education and industry, Sabinna is a committed advocate for inclusivity, equal opportunity, and the empowerment of the next generation of creatives. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), she speaks regularly at international conferences and universities on ethical fashion, sustainable leadership, and creative entrepreneurship.
