Dr Nuoya Tan

Biography

Nuoya Tan is a Lecturer in Psychology at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Trained in experimental research, Nuoya now works with mixed-methods and interdisciplinary approaches to understand human behaviours. Her current research focuses on the processes and utility of human creativity: How do people generate novel and useful ideas? How can creativity drive positive social and environmental change? And how should society respond to rapid technological advancement (AI) in order to support the positive evolution of human creativity? Alongside her core research interests, Nuoya has a longstanding interest in applying psychological science in real‑world contexts, including marketing, education, and innovation. She has collaborated with organisations such as Unilever and BBC on knowledge exchange and applied research projects. Nuoya is also an experienced empowerment coach for young people, supporting them in building confidence and resilience.
