Biography
Nuoya Tan is a Lecturer in Psychology at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Trained in experimental research, Nuoya now works with mixed-methods and interdisciplinary approaches to understand human behaviours.Her research focuses on the processes and utility of human creativity: How do people generate novel and useful ideas? How to measure this process? How can creativity drive positive social and environmental change for sustainability? And how should society respond to rapid technological advancement (AI) in order to support the positive evolution of human creativity?
Nuoya has a longstanding interest in applying social science in real‑world contexts, including evaluating impacts, understanding consumers, improving education, and facilitating innovation. She has collaborated with organisations such as Unilever, BBC, Alchemist Learning, Columbus Consulting on knowledge exchange and applied research projects.
Nuoya is also an experienced empowerment coach for young people, supporting them in building confidence and resilience.
