First year BA Fashion Design at Central St Martins is an introduction to the many skills needed to follow a career as a designer or an artist.
Fashion is all about communication. The curriculum is designed to deliver new understanding of research, design development, creative pattern cutting, sewing and social skills to enable you to communicate your ideas and be a respectful and dynamic member of any design team.
Thorough research skills are fundamental to all projects at CSM.
How you nurture and develop a narrative, process and communicate your findings to others is essential.
We encourage students to be brave and take risks with their work.
'Mistakes' should be embraced.
We do not strive for perfection, we would rather witness discovery.
We encourage students to support each other’s progress and to always be respectful.
