Mengtian Wang

Biography

Mengtian Wang is a practice-based PhD researcher at Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges, University of the Arts London. Her research takes as its starting point the classical Chinese formulation that the summer insect cannot speak of ice, a condition of constitutive unknowing: the insect's life unfolds entirely within relations it cannot access, yet which sustain it absolutely. She asks how to live, and how to work, within what cannot be exhausted. She is supervised by Prof Mark Fairnington and Dr Henrietta Simson.
