Melanie Davies

Biography

As Senior Lecturer: Academic Support at University of the Arts London: Central Saint Martins, I coordinate Academic Support for the Jewellery, Textiles and Materials Programme / Cultural Studies for Fashion. I am also Critical Text tutor for MA Material Futures. I have a background in Cultural Studies, Material Culture Studies, Fashion Theory and Creative Arts Pedagogy. My current research has two main strands. My pedagogic research takes an intersectional approach to dyslexic difference in creative arts Higher Education Institutions. My research into Beau Brummell explores the role of fashion in the development of historic and contemporary masculinities as well as the relevance of this in a global, post-human world.
