Biography

I'm a practice-based PhD Researcher at the Creative Computing Institute. I'm asking what AI governance can learn from how community filmmakers in London governed themselves informally in the 1970s and 80s to challenge mainstream media. I'm also looking to nature to find out how AI governance could be more open to different forms of participation.

My practice is making systems easier to see, so others can take part. For a community in The Meadows, Nottingham, I used open map data to show who owns the land and where carbon emissions could be cut. I'm now turning this towards AI governance.

Before the PhD I worked as a policy adviser in UK central and local government, and as a platform reliability engineer and security analyst on GOV.UK One Login.
